Founded in 1992 by a missionary priest in Oecussi, Timor-Leste, Topu Honis Shelter Home is a safe haven for more than 100 orphans, children from extremely poor homes, disabled adults, and women fleeing abuse. In the local Metonese language,Topu Honis means "guide to life, leading by the hand."
More than just a loving home, Topu Honis provides health and nutrition, education and life skills, shelter and safety, college sponsorships, employment opportunities, and cultural preservation.
Topu Honis volunteers see firsthand the difference that every volunteer hour and every dollar make in the lives of our residents. We want to share that life-changing opportunity with you! No contribution is too small to affect change, and we offer ways to engage with Topu Honis beyond monetary contributions.
